Dearest Susie,

I MISS seeing you and Sam and Tater and Pixie, et al since we moved. Everytime I came over for a treatment I was greeted by the clan and Sam always wanted to join me on the table. He was very sweet and loved attention, as any normal dog does. I had never seen a Chinese hairless Crested until meeting Sam and his sisters. My world was expanded. He will be missed, especially when I come to visit and he's not there to greet me. Give the girls kisses for me.

We're so sorry for your ordeal and loss. You are precious and are an example to the world that love extends beyond the outward appearance. You are beautiful person--inside and out! We love you and are praying for you.

Dear Susie,

I was at the taping of the "I've Got a Secret" pilot that you and Sam participated in. My partner worked on the show, so I got to look forward to seeing Sam in person for weeks. His performance was spectacular! He had the audience eating out of his paw! I met you briefly after your segment, and got to tell you how touched I was by the story of how you found Sam, proving that there is love in this universe for even the "ugliest" of God's creatures. Because of you Sam not only found a home but became a celebrity! A three-time world champion! Because of your act of love more "unadoptable" dogs are finding loving homes and enjoying their golden years. Your example reminds us how important it is to see others not just with our eyes, but with our hearts. May the story of Susie and Sam live on forever.

Paul Cox

We are eternally awed by sam now and forever. May he find the fur he never had. May he always be judged by the content of his character.

Dear Susie & Tater Tot,

Just wanted to let you know that the staff here at the Sonoma-Marin Fair was deeply saddened today by your news of L'il Sam's passing. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that you are in our thoughts. We know how much love and compassion he brought to your life.

L'il Sam set the bar high for the 'Worldest Ugliest Dog Contest'! He will truly be missed at next year's competition, but will always be fondly remembered.

Keep in touch and take care.
